The Committee

We are all young professionals, busy working hard to make a difference in London’s French community,  and organising events in our free time:

President – Véronique RapettiVR

I joined the JCCFB in 2001 and quickly took on the role of VP. I have occupied the role of the President since 2003. I always wanted to be part of an association and in the JCCFB I found what I was looking for: fun, friendly people and a nice schedule of events. I have been in London for over 20 years and in my spare time I like to keep myself busy with indoor climbing, tap dancing, rock’n roll dancing, water skiing in the summer (yes, it is possible even in London!). I come from the South of France, and apart from the sunshine, I think London is a great city for young people;  there is so much on offer, so many things to do.

Treasurer: Christophe Lerck

Jenny ReidI’m an in house lawyer at BSkyB, living and working in London, with a strong interest in French culture and language.  I studied English law and French law at university, which included an Erasmus year living and studying in Dijon, Bourgogne.  It was one of the best years of my life and I loved immersing myself into French life! I joined the JCCFB committee so that I could continue to practice my French language skills, and meet other young francophile professionals.  JCCFB is a great opportunity to meet new people and get involved in various activities and as a committee member I am dedicated to help plan even more fun and cultural events for our members.

Whilst at University I spent a year living in Dijon studying French law and have been an avid Francophone ever since. I love travelling in France and am a big fan of the French culture, food and wine. I joined the JCCFB Committee in 2010 and started off by managing the JCCFB database and mailing list. Since then I have enjoyed organised events such as La Rentrée and Summer Social drinks, as well as the popular ‘Networking in the City’ evening. The events are good fun and a great opportunity to speak French and meet new people. I set up the JCCFB LinkedIn group in 2011 with the aim of spreading the word about our events and increasing the JCCFB membership. It’s fantastic that we now have over 650 members in our group with over half of the attendees at our events hearing about them via LinkedIn. So, there’s nothing more for me to say but log in to LinkedIn and join our Group.

I was born in sunny Nice and have been living and working in London since 1994.  I have been a member of the JCCFB committee since 2002. Over the years, I have organised successful and fun events such as La Galette, Positive Thinking and Body Language. During this time, I also took over the responsibility to find all the sponsors and gifts for the Tombola in aids of Doctors of the World for the JCCFB Annual Ball. Why do I do it? Because I love it! The atmosphere is very relaxed, but we still get things done in a very efficient and successful manner. The other people on the committee are great and we have lots of fun during the monthly meetings and events. I am thrilled when we have ‘sold out’ events and participants leave at the end of the evening having had a wonderful time and having made new friends.  I am married to an Italian, currently look after my son and in my spare time I enjoy Zumba classes, swimming and traveling.
